ORISSI is an Indian classical dance from East India, Orissa. This dance, just like the other classical dance forms of India, gets its basic inspiration from the traditional dance rules of the text Natyashastra.
Its two basic positions are Chauka and Tribhang.
Chauka, the square position representing Lord Jagannath or Krishna and
Tribhang, the position where the body is divided in three parts, head, bust and torse executing complex movements to express emotions and expressions.

Bhawan, with the Orissi master Mohanty and later continued with master D. Patnaik. Very young she performed on stage for her shows. Eversince she has continued learning with different masters...notably Guru Durga Charan Ranbir.
Over the years, she has perfomed many shows as a solo dancer in halls and venues like: LE GRAND REX, TRIANON, CABARET SAUVAGE, MAISON DE L'INDE, CENTRE MANDAPA ..., for cultural associations like: PERSPECTIVES ASIENNES, TRIWAT, MAISON POPULAIRE , for international festivals like: KHAMORO (Prague), LILLE 3000..., for big events like: HERMES, JAEGER LE COULTRE, CARTIER, RICHLIEU FINANCE... travelled for her shows in France and in different countries like: INDIA, SPAIN, CZECH REPUBLIC, SLOVAKIA, RUSSIA, UAE, USA, BELGIUM, SWITZERLAND...
